From what I've heard, hotel staff appreciate receiving shampoo, soap, candies, pencils, and other stuff which is difficult to get in Cuba, instead of tips. School supplies are hard to come by.

My sister heard of this charity in Cuba that collects wedding dresses. She is meeting a lady in Varadero who will be picking up some dresses from her. If you have one you wish to donate please let us know.
